NOSE SURGERY – COURSE AND PROCEDURE

What is Rhinoplasty – Experiences and Preparation Process?

When it comes to procedures like nose surgery, there are two variants. One involves surgery to change the nasal septum to improve nasal function due to its deviation, and this is called septoplasty. The causes of deviations can vary, and you may recognize this problem by difficulty breathing, nasal congestion, nosebleeds, frequent sinus infections, dizziness, headaches, and more. Septoplasty involves removing deformed parts of the nasal septum or placing it in the correct position. This operation can be done alone or together with aesthetic nose correction, known as corrective rhinoplasty. Experiences and effects in this case largely depend on the surgeon's expertise and experience.

Personal feelings and trust in the chosen aesthetic surgery clinic are also essential. Patient experiences and satisfaction are crucial for the clinic's reputation. Our expertise and positive results speak for themselves - for more information about us, seek advice over the phone or during consultations, where we will also introduce you to the preparation, process, and postoperative care.

Rhinoplasty can correct nasal asymmetry, a nose that is too long or wide, a short or narrow nose, an exaggerated nasal bridge or hump, and change the position of the nasal tip and other features. However, be realistic in your desires and expectations. Together, we will achieve the ideal shape of your nose, a significant part of the preparation for surgery.

When discussing with the surgeon, be honest about why you want to undergo nose surgery and what you hope to achieve. After the conversation and a complete examination, it will be clear whether you are a suitable candidate for surgery. If you are, an individual correction plan is made, and two weeks before and after nose surgery, refrain from alcohol and avoid medications that thin the blood, as they can negatively impact the surgery and subsequent recovery.

Operative Technique and Duration of the Procedure

At Dr. Colić Aesthetic Surgery Clinic, the operation is performed using incisions made inside or below the nostrils, making external scars almost invisible or barely noticeable. The procedure involves changing the position and shape of cartilage and bones. Nose surgery is usually performed under general anesthesia, and the process can take from 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the severity and complexity of the desired correction.

After the intervention, nasal packs are placed in the nasal cavities, and a compressive mask is applied to the outside of the nose. All of this needs to stay in place for the next 7 days, during which the patient breathes through the mouth, sleeps with an elevated head, and consumes liquid food initially. The stitches are removed after 2 weeks. During this time, nasal swelling mostly subsides, there is almost no pain, and the initial effects of rhinoplasty can be seen. Experiences after surgery, if you have precisely discussed the appearance with the surgeon and followed instructions and advice, can only be positive. However, the final results of the operation will be visible after a few weeks, so be patient.

Whatever your reason for changing the shape of your nose, Dr. Colić Aesthetic Surgery Clinic is here to meet your demands and turn your desires into reality. Contact us and schedule consultations and examinations.
