Silicone implants for increasing breast volume

If you are dissatisfied with the size of your breasts and it poses not only aesthetic but also health problems due to a lack of confidence and poor quality of social and love life, it's time to consider how plastic surgery could help you! There is no excuse when it comes to your happiness and satisfaction, and silicone implants in the breasts are no longer financially inaccessible today. However, it is essential to find a reliable clinic and professional, experienced doctors who will advise you best and provide their opinions and guidelines regarding the part of the body you want to change and the surgical technique used for breast surgery. Because deciding on a step that will somewhat change your life is not a small decision!

To implant silicone in the breasts, a incision of up to 4 cm is made, usually under the breasts to hide the scar. When performing this breast surgery, a space is usually formed under or above the chest muscle where the silicone prosthesis is placed, without damaging the mammary glands. In some cases, implants can be inserted through the armpit or through the nipples. The entire procedure takes about 1.5 hours, and after surgery, wearing a bra is recommended. The stitches are removed after 2 weeks, but you can return to regular activities after seven days.

Uneven breasts - how to correct breast asymmetry

Breast asymmetry can be noticeable not only in breast sizes but also in their disproportionate position. However, plastic surgery offers reliable solutions to quickly, easily, and safely solve these problems. When it comes to this breast surgery, the surgical technique depends on the degree of asymmetry and the type of deformity. When uneven breasts are not so pronounced, symmetry is achieved by inserting implants of different sizes in the same way as when breast augmentation is performed. If uneven breasts are more pronounced, or if one breast is more saggy than the other, after inserting silicone into the breasts, it is necessary to perform a lifting of the sagging breast. There are also cases of asymmetry caused by Poland syndrome, the cause of which is still unknown, and uneven breasts manifest here with a complete absence or underdeveloped chest muscle, a lack of glandular tissue, and a smaller nipple. Fortunately, plastic surgery successfully solves all these problems with various surgical techniques.

Correcting breast asymmetry can take about 2 hours, and patients need to stay in the hospital for 24 hours after the surgery. The stitches are also removed after two weeks, and wearing a bra is mandatory, with a gradual return to regular activities advised.

When and how is breast reconstruction done?

Breast reconstruction involves compensating for missing tissue if you have had to undergo amputation or in cases of congenital breast underdevelopment. A removed breast can be reconstructed with your tissue or a silicone implant. Silicone implants in the breasts are a simpler and easier way in such cases. However, in most cases, there is a lack of skin, so it is first necessary to expand it using tissue expanders in the first stage of the operation to hide the scar underneath the breast. After that, a silicone implant can be inserted, or there is the option to immediately insert a Becker prosthesis, which remains permanent.

If you opt for gradual reconstruction, in the following weeks, you need to come every 5-7 days for the gradual filling of the tissue expander with saline solution through a special place on the breast. This way, the tissue expander is gradually filled to the desired breast size and achieving the optimal pocket for the future prosthesis.

When breast surgery or reconstruction is done using your tissue, it is usually taken from the abdomen or back. However, modern methods of treating breast cancer now include replacing the lost breast immediately after the amputation. Later, if you have uneven breasts, correction might be done.

Depending on the choice of surgical technique, the duration and recovery after the operation also depend - reconstruction with your tissue is a much larger and more complicated procedure, so it involves both a longer duration and a longer recovery period!

Although plastic surgery provides many positive experiences, every surgical procedure carries certain risks and rare complications that every professional and experienced doctor will inform you about. However, in the hands of the same, you can be assured that everything will end as you wanted - safely, happily, and with a new look much more satisfied and confident!
