Prof. Miodrag Colić, MD

Plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon.

Professor Dr. Miodrag Colić was the co-founder and co-owner of the Colić Special Hospital for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, which he established with his brother, Prim. Dr. Milan Colić.

He began his professional career in 1985 at the newly opened Center for Burns, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Belgrade, where he worked until 2012. From 2001 to 2009, he served as the Director of the Center.

He completed his specialization in plastic and reconstructive surgery in 1990. He obtained a master's degree in 1987 from the University of Belgrade Faculty of Medicine and earned his PhD in 1994 from the University of Novi Sad with a dissertation titled “The Role of Hyperbaric Oxygenation in the Treatment of High-Voltage Electrical Injuries,” based on five years of dedicated clinical research.

Prof. Colić began his academic career in 1991 as an assistant professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Belgrade, becoming an associate professor in 1998 and full professor in 2004. He pursued further training in Spain, Mexico, and Brazil.

Internationally recognized, he held prominent positions within the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), including National Secretary for Serbia, Chair of National Secretaries (2004–2008), General Secretary (2008–2012), and Vice President (2012–2013). Since 2011, he has represented Europe in the International Confederation for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (IPRAS), where he also served on the Committee for International Cooperation.

Prof. Colić was a founding member of the Balkan Association of Plastic Surgery and organized two Balkan congresses — in Belgrade (2001) and Budva (2013). He received honorary membership from numerous professional societies, including those in Romania, Uzbekistan, and Greece, and held academic titles from international institutions such as Albert Schweitzer International University and Lipoplasty University.

He served as president of Lions Club International for Yugoslavia (2001) and later for Serbia and Montenegro (2003–2004), and from 2009 onward, he was president of the Serbian Association for Breast Reconstruction (SURD).

With over 200 professional publications, Prof. Colić was also a member of the editorial board of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He authored and co-authored several monographs on plastic and aesthetic surgery, published the poetry collection “The Trace of Eternity”, and released a three-volume travel monograph titled “My Journey Around the World.” He contributed a chapter on polarized light in facial lifting for the textbook Aesthetic Surgery of the Facial Mosaic (Springer, 2007).

He was fluent in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese, and served as Honorary Consul of the Republic of Peru from 2010.
